Technology Road Test

This is a new concept for XDtec, inspired by the road test reports in motoring magazines and intended to alleviate a common reservation customers have about consultancy – that it will go on indefinitely and be very expensive.

The Technology Road Test is a a fixed price package aimed mostly at researchers and developers with new or improved technologies - at the laboratory demonstration stage up to advanced prototypes – who need to understand where their technology stands in relation to user requirements, other detection technologies and current threats and detection priorities.   It may also suit investors wanting to acquire a technology and need to verify its viability.

For a fixed price I will:

• sign a standard mutual non-disclosure  agreement with you

• visit you to hear about your technology and  if practicable see it demonstrated it and carry  out simple tests

• answer your questions on potential  applications, users, requirements and regulations

• carry out a short literature survey on the  science background and requirements for  your technology and it's potential  applications

• identify potential sources of support for further R&D, especially for early-stage  research

• write a short, commercially confidential  report summarizing all the above and giving  an opinion on the technology's marketability  and recommendations for how to take it forward

This represents 5-7 days' work and I will do it for the fixed price of £2,500 + VAT @ 20%(EU customers) + actual expenses.

The Technology Road Test is flexible enough to accommodate technologies at different stages of development and customers with different viewpoints – it could be used by potential end-users of equipment, for instance.   It is intended to give customers an informed and confidential opinion quickly and at a reasonable price.
